Brief Biography
I grew up in the appliance repair industry. From the time I could walk, I was helping repair appliances and televisions alongside my father, who owned a repair company on Long Island. The family had been in the home service trades for generations before that — my grandfather repaired the oil burners that heated homes in the early 1900s, and later partnered with family to sell appliances as well. Serving customers and keeping homes running has simply always been part of the Callahan family.
When I started Callahan's Appliance in North Texas, it was truly a one-man operation. I scheduled my own customers, ordered my own parts, performed the repairs, and handled the billing — I was the customer service department, technician, and office all in one. As the Dallas–Fort Worth area grew, so did the demand for reliable service, and the company expanded by bringing in family and trusted friends. That created the strong sense of teamwork and loyalty that still defines us today.
That culture remains one of our greatest strengths. We believe in providing exceptional service to our customers while supporting the people who make that service possible. My wife Sue and I remain deeply involved and are familiar faces in the office — Sue has played a major role in shaping our positive culture and making sure employees feel valued. After decades of hands-on experience, I am proud to keep giving back to an industry and a community that have given so much to my family.
